Dr. Susan Kowalski is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Physiological Nursing. Her areas of undergraduate teaching center upon critical care nursing and professional concepts. She taught in the MSN program’s Nurse Educator track and frequently serves on thesis or capstone committees for graduate students.
Dr. Kowalski’s current program of research focus is nursing education assessment, particularly the use of standardized tests as a measure to predict student success in the nursing program and on the NCLEX exam. She recently received program grant funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration to oversee a year-round residency program for new RN graduates. Her other area of research is the effect of grief upon widows and its impact on health. Dr. Kowalski received funding from the Department of Education for her study of widows.
