Nursing Continuing Education: University-level Professional Development for Nevada Nurses
UNLV Nursing education programs within the Division of Health Sciences have been providing excellence in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education for the Nursing profession for more than 40 years. The UNLV School of Nursing, established in 2003, has now teamed with the university’s Division of Educational Outreach to extend that tradition of excellence more fully to the community of practicing nurses in southern Nevada.
This renewed collaborative professional development initiative coincides with a renewed focus within the School on our founding philosophy of being responsive to the community we serve. This is especially critical now given the changing health care needs of southern Nevada, taking into account the needs of our students and health care consumers, new directions in health care services, disease prevention, health restoration and advancements in technology.
These initial Nursing continuing education programs reflect the philosophy and the exciting and demanding 21st century urban environment in which nurses practice in southern Nevada.
