I would like to welcome you to the PhD in Nursing program at UNLV.  As the first such program in Nevada, we initially admitted students in 2005.  We currently have over 50 doctoral students and graduates who reside in 15 different states.  With two track options of "Nursing Education" and "Urban Sustainability: Health,"  the PhD in Nursing Program prepares individuals for roles as leader, scholar/researcher, and educator in diverse settings including academia, the health care industry, and health care focused public or private organizations.

Our nursing faculty strive to work collaboratively with our doctoral students in an atmosphere of mutual respect for their diversity of talents and ideas.  The faculty are dedicated to providing individual attention and guidance for our students throughout their web-based educational experience.  Our program is offered online using a variety of teaching strategies designed to actively engage our students in their studies.  To enhance the connections of students with their peers and the nursing faculty, on-campus three day intensive sessions are held at the beginning of each fall semester.
