The UNLV School of Nursing (SON) has developed this site to assist nursing students in their academic achievement (eg. study skills, time management, stress management, test taking skills, collaboration). Information and resources will be added from time to time. You may use all the information and resources independently or with the assistance of your Faculty Advisor.

Student Nurses Association (SNA)
The Student Nurses Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to community service, student functions, & promoting Nursing as a profession. Students in the School of Nursing formulated the Student Nurses Association in 1972. This association has established bylaws which closely follow the bylaws of the National Student Nurses Association. All Nursing students are eligible for membership within this association and are urged to join. It is primarily through the association that students participate on faculty committees. Some advantages of membership include:

• Receive the latest information on what's happening in the Nursing School.
• Eligible to be a student representative on faculty committees.
• Have a voice in the changes happening at UNLV.
• Direct link between NSNA and the student Nurse.
• Develop a network of professional Nurses and fellow students.
• Make new friends.
• Receive graduation ceremony recognition.
• Eligible to win raffle prizes and door prizes.
• Assistance with transportation fees to NSNA conventions.
• Group Social Activities ( Summer picnic, Holiday party)
• Support from fellow students.

A web-based bibliographic software package.
The Zeta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the national honor society of Nursing, was chartered at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1982. The purposes of Sigma Theta Tau are to recognize the achievement of scholarship of superior quality, to recognize the development of leadership qualities, to foster high professional standards, to encourage creative work and to strengthen commitment on the part of individuals to the ideals and purposes of the profession of Nursing. Each year invitation to membership is extended to selected students in the undergraduate and graduate programs who demonstrate the qualities identified by the purposes of Sigma Theta Tau. Faculty members and community Nursing leaders who possess the minimum of a Baccalaureate in Nursing are also invited to membership. Meetings of an educational nature are planned four times per year.

UNLV-TV is a non-profit communication resource offered by the Hank Greenspun School of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. UNLV-TV serves the university campus and community by providing educational programs about and for UNLV students, faculty and staff.
WebCT WebCampus/VISTA
WebCampus is UNLV’s online classroom environment. This environment utilizes WebCT which is an on-line course management system (short for Web Course Tools). Many UNLV instructors utilize WebCampus to offer students course materials and communication tools online. Tools that an instructor may use include course e-mail, a class calendar, chat rooms, discussion forums, grade book, video lectures, quizzes, etc.

Nurse Author & Editor is an international newsletter dedicated to nurse authors, editors and reviewers.  It was first published in 1991 as a print publication but it is now published by Blackwell Publishing as a free quarterly online publication. 
Nevada State Board of Nursing
The Board's mission is to protect the public's health, safety and welfare through effective nursing regulation. It is a governmental agency established by Nevada law to protect the public from unsafe practice by nurses.
